That's Life!
It's been a while since my last blog post! I've been so incredibly busy! I'm working 35+ hours a week, going to school 5 days a week, and now my dance season started up so I'm dancing 16+ hours a week. There needs to be more hours in the week! I'm more than happy to be making money and doing what I love, but I would also like some time to catch up on some sleep and relax as well! I'm anticipating the end of the semester--having a few extra hours here and there are really going to help! I am still suffering from a design block and it's really annoying me. I still have nothing for the two photography websites I need to create. I really hope I come out of this design slump soon. I love the coding and getting the site up and running and I want to do that asap!
Long Awaited!
Well, after how many months I've finally got Graceful Illusion back up and running. Long story short -- somehow my domain got hacked. Some of my source code was filled with a google script instead of my original code. To make matters worse, I did not have a backup of the site. So, redesigning everything was the only option. I decided that I wanted to make a new layout as well as make my coding much more efficient. I am working on using Object Oriented Programming to cut down on the length of my code. I really like using OOP, though I am having a little difficulty understanding some things. Its difficult when you are teaching yourself. However, the programming classes I'm taking are helping me better understand what I'm doing. This summer I received an email from my Web Development teacher letting me know of an internship that was available. It was from a web design company called Sound-n-Vision. I decided that it was a good opportunity, and I decided to apply. I went in for the interview and they liked me, so I started right away. Two weeks later, they sat down and told me that they really liked my work and that they wanted to hire me part time. I really enjoy working with this company. I like the way they operate as well as their means for marketing the company. I intend on staying here as long as they will have me. Sound-n-Vision's work is amazing.
